Man Sues Date for Texting During Guardians of the Galaxy 2

Being on a date in the movie theatre should, of course, be intimate and when your date texts during a movie, it can definitely be quite nerve-wracking. However, for 37-year-old, Brandon Vezmar it was a little more hurtful to him than just nerve-wracking. During a screening of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Vezmar’s date had been texting throughout the film and he decided to take these actions to the court.

Vezmar is suing his date and requesting $17.31, which was the cost of a single ticket for the 3D film. His petition was filed in a small court located in south-central Texas. His claim states that her actions are a “threat to civilized society” and “the principle is important.”

According to the theatre they attended, texting throughout a film is a violation of their policy. The petition states her behavior affected Vezmar’s viewing experience as well as others in the theater.

Apparently, Vezmar met this woman online and decided to take her to a movie for their first romantic date. However, that date turned upside down as soon as she pulled out her phone fifteen minutes into the film. Vezmar explains how texting in a theater is one of his biggest pet peeves and he really took this one to heart.
