This Date Smoothie is Better Than Any Milkshake (Healthier, Too)

Unlike refined sugar, the natural sugar in dates comes with fiber, which helps regulate the absorption of sugar, preventing spikes in blood sugar levels. Here’s an easy recipe you’ll love.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup pitted dates
  • 1 banana (frozen for a thicker texture)
  • 1 1/2 cups almond milk (or any other plant-based milk)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of ground cinnamon
  • Ice cubes (optional, for a colder texture)
  • If you like a bit of texture or crunch, consider adding a tablespoon of chia seeds or flaxseeds.

Instructions:

  1. If your dates aren’t soft, soak them in warm water for about 10 minutes to soften them up. This will make them easier to blend and give your smoothie a silky smooth texture.
  2. In a blender, combine the softened dates, frozen banana, almond milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
