The Official World Cup Song Will Feature Some Big Names In The Industry

The  FIFA 2018 World Cup is approaching quickly and it wouldn’t be the big spectacle it always is, without a good anthem. After Shakira’s ‘Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)’ became a hit during the games in 2010,  it’s time for a new worldwide hit and there are a few big names working on it this year.

One of those names is Will Smith, who is preparing his comeback to the music industry with this new World Cup anthem. After a successful career as a rapper in the early 2000s, he tried his luck again last year and released a new song (called Get Lit) with his former musical partner DJ Jazzy Jeff. Unfortunately, this song didn’t bring them as much success as they hoped.

Now, Smith is giving his music career yet another chance by working together on the World Cup anthem with reggaeton star Nicky Jam and Era Istrefi. Most people know Nicky Jam because he has many hits to his name,  like El Amante and El Perdón. Istrefi, who is a popular singer from Kosovo, is known for the major success she booked with her 2016 European hit BonBon and her collaboration with rapper French Montana.

The new World Cup anthem will be produced by another big name in the industry. Diplo, the famous producer who is known for hits like Cold Water and Lean On, is assigned for the job.

Apart from the anthem, there will also be unofficial songs which are being released during the World Cup. This year that includes a song called Colors by Jason Derulo and Maluma.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be the 21st and will be held in Russia from June 14the to July 15th.
