Shareece Wright Pays $900 For Uber Ride to Show Up to Practice

Buffalo Bills cornerback, Shareece Wright showed his commitment to the team by purchasing a $900 Uber ride to make it on time to his voluntary practice. Yes voluntary, meaning he did not even have to show! The Uber ride was taking him from Chicago all the way to Buffalo, New York, which is about an eight-hour drive.

The receipt shows the trip in total cost $632.08 however, the driver earned a well deserved $300 tip. The 26-year old Uber driver, Had Abdollahian is a refugee from Turkey. He initially picked Wright up from the Chicago’s O’Hare International airport because Wright could not get a flight that day. According to the Washington Post, Abdollahian states, “He told me Buffalo and I thought he meant Buffalo [Wild Wings] grill…So I said, ‘Yeah, for sure.’” But once Abdollahian found out the real destination he couldn’t back out because he promised him on the phone. So naturally, they just hit the road!

For eight hours, the two discussed Wright’s life including his family and of course his football career. Abdollahian also talked to Wright about his transition to the U.S from Turkey and how he wishes to become an astronaut one day. In the end, companies including Nissan and BlueRock Energy have offered help to Adbollahian as well.
