New Film ‘Life’ Uses Shots From Spider-Man 3 In Its Trailer

The creators of the new movie Life, which is starring Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal, has recently last month in February one of their trailers for the movie.

A fan of the upcoming movie, who is an avid Reddit user with fantastic photographic memory, realized that the trailer contains pure footage from actor Tobey Maguire’s 2007 movie, Spider-Man 3.

This fan’s discovery is not so hard to believe, as both the Spider-Man films, as well as the upcoming film Life, are both produced by Sony Pictures. The scene that was copied was the one where a group of New York residents look up in memorizing at the flying person in the sky.

While looking at both the image from the Spider-Man film and from the Life film trailer, you’ll notice just very limited differences such as the lighting, color, and position of the people standing in the shoot.

Life is the first movie that has been caught using footage from another film. The film is set to release in theaters March 24, 2017.
