Han Solo Prequel Movie Starts Filming in February

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has finally landed, but there’s still plenty to look forward to for Wookie fans everywhere.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy recently confirmed that filming for the upcoming Han Solo prequel spin-off is set to begin in February.

Although next to nothing has been revealed about the plot, we do know a few things about the movie, which will follow Han Solo before he met up with the Skywalkers. Alden Ehrenreich will star as the young smuggler with Donald Glover set to play Lando Calrissian. Emilia Clarke has also signed on, but her part is still unclear. Chewbacca will also appear in the flick, and he’s notoriously choosy about his roles.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (The LEGO Movie) will direct, based on a script co-written by Lawrence Kasdan (The Empire Strikes Back, The Force Awakens). A very encouraging creative team.

The movie is expected to arrive in May 2018, but we’ll get Episode VIII before that in December 2017.
