Why There Was So Much Hype For Oceans 8

The Ocean’s saga is set to continue seventeen years after the first movie release in 2001. Ocean’s 8 will be released this summer in June and will be packed with strong female lead characters, including Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Awkwafina, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, and Bonham Carter.

Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner are also in the film for a short cameo. Additionally, Katie Holmes will have a cameo for the film. Holmes commented on the greatness of the movie, stating that “it’s going to be a great female caper film. It won’t disappoint. It’s people that you want to watch and you connect with, and it’s a great director.”

The movie will be about how Sandra Bullock and her team set out to steal an expensive diamond necklace at the Met Gala. Although the storyline is a bit similar to the original films, the focus shifts from George Clooney’s character, Danny Ocean, to his sister, Debbie Ocean, played by Bullock.

The director of the film, Gary Ross, has also directed The Hunger Games. He wrote the Ocean’s 8 film with Olivia Milch and Steven Soderbergh, who is the author of the original films.

Rihanna gave a small sneak peak of the film on her Twitter account when she posted a picture of behind the scenes. Since hitting the big screen on June 8th, it has been a huge success. The film took the number one spot and grossed $41.5 million it’s opening weekend. With a score of 67% on rotten tomatoes, this movie is definitely worth checking out.
