How To Be More Productive While You’re Waiting

We all spend what seems like way too much time waiting. Whether you are waiting in line for 5 hours to purchase the newest iPhone or waiting 5 minutes on your significant other to finish getting ready for your date night, people spend countless hours of their time waiting.

The concept of waiting can seem daunting. However, in order to make the most out of a situation, here are some ways to make the most out of your unavoidable waiting time.

Something that many people don’t realize is that waiting also provides the opportunity for one to actually be pretty productive. Waiting for a bus? Maybe pull out the map or bus route app in order to plan what stop you get off of. Or, why not take this time to make a phone call or two to a family member who you may not have spoken to in awhile. Waiting for your friend to pick you up for dinner? Maybe take this time to look at the online menu of the restaurant so that you save time once you actually make it to your destination. Waiting for your teacher to arrive to class? Maybe whip out your phone and quickly make a list of all of the tasks that you hope to accomplish that day.

There are tons of reasons why waiting around can be productive. In order to beat the boredom of what can seem like hours and hours of sitting around, why not utilize that time, and view it not as a waiting period, but a period to plan your schedule, reach out to friends or family that you may not have spoken to for a while, or take the time to prepare for an upcoming activity. Being productive becomes a habit when you begin incorporating little tasks like these into your daily routine.
