Can you believe that people actually call the number scrawled on the bathroom wall? Mark Ellis, a 51-year-old trucker from West Yorkshire in the United Kingdom did. And now, he’s got two kids. A spiteful ex-boyfriend of Donna Roberts left graffiti on a toilet cubicle at a local pub along with her number. “If you want a good shag call Donna,” it read. Ellis said that he “was curious to know if it was a real human being.” So he decided to try his luck and sent Roberts a text message reading “Hi. What are you up to?”
In what may be the strangest love story of our time, a confused Roberts replied asking who it was. The two struck up a conversation and within days they met in person and fell in love. A decade later, they now have two children aged eight and nine. “I should thank my ex — he did me a favor,” Roberts said. “It was days before he told me how he got my number. I was stunned. I had to get a new phone so no one else could ring.” Though she admits that they haven’t told the kids how their parents met just yet. “I usually say that he texted me by mistake,” she explained.
