Season 8 of Game of Thrones Will Only Have 6 Episodes

HBO’s Game of Thrones will soon be releasing their seventh season, which is set to only have seven episodes in comparison to the usual ten. It appears season eight will be worse, with only a mere six episodes in the entire season.

This was confirmed by Game of Thrones show runners, David Benioff and D.B Weiss, who made a statement this past Sunday at the Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival regarding the short season.

HBO still hasn’t confirmed the length of the either season, which would amount to roughly 70 hours total. They most likely will soon as both writers of the show have already established that there will still be a beginning, middle, and an end to the season.

Benioff continued and went along to state that he is “very happy we’ve kept everyone and we get to finish it the way we want to.”

Both Benioff and Weiss laid out that they wouldn’t be involved in any prequels or spinoffs of the Game of Thrones show, regardless of if it is produced by HBO or another entertainment company.

Benioff stated that he believes HBO will go on and continue with the show in some form or another and he is excited to see what changes they make.
