Have you ever sent a naughty text to the wrong person? Been too bold with a new love interest? Just flat out made no sense? We’ve all had that moment or moments of anxiety after a texting blunder and suffered through the pain and the embarrassment knowing that you can’t get it back, you’re going to get a less than satisfied reply or worse, be ghosted. My, my how the texting table has turned.
Available on Google Play, the On Second Thought app can save you from yourself, even for things as minor as a typo. The app, marketing towards everyone with a smartphone because “Nobody deserves a permanent, easily shareable, and undeletable record of their missteps”, can “unsend” your text messages.
How does it work? On Second Thought provides you with a grace period of sorts to decide if you need to revoke a text message- and this time period is customizable by the user. For example, you can blanket the texts for a few seconds, a few minutes, or even use the “curfew” setting for a night-perfect for when you are going out on the town (you know what we mean).
This just sounds too good to be true and it gets better. The messages you revoke will never be seen by the recipient, whether or not they have the On Second Thought App.
The app was created by a Maci Peterson, 28 years old at the time of its creation. She is a graduate of Spelman College.
