Once again, LaVar Ball is being talked about by everyone, but this time, we aren’t that mad about it. LaVar has called out Michael Jordan in the past, saying he could beat him in a 1 on 1 basketball game. Now, we all laughed about that but LaVar was probably serious. However, Jordan had something to say.
Jordan hosted a Q&A at his Michael Jordan Flight School this week when of course, someone in the crowd asked MJ about LaVar Ball and his kids. The person who asked the question clearly wanted to know how Michael Jordan felt about LaVar saying he could win in a 1 on 1 game. Jordan was more than prepared to answer this question and fired back with a great response.
Jordan answered by saying, “I think his father is very proud of all his kids. Like any father would be very proud of their kids. But I would say if I had to sit down and talk to him right now, if you guys weren’t here. I’d tell him to shut up and let the kids play.” He followed up by responding to LaVars 1 on 1 claims by saying, “He couldn’t beat me if I was one legged!” Of course the crowd roared once he said that.
However, this was not an attack on LaVar by Jordan. Jordan has said he appreciates Ball’s pride and enthusiasm for his children and how they play basketball, but he just needs to let the kids do their thing and stop budding too far into their basketball careers.
