Prepare to be mind blown because it is official, Jordan Peele’s new movie is releasing March 15, 2019 according to The Hollywood Reporter. In conjunction with his two-year first look deal with Universal Pictures, this new film is yet to be another “social thriller.”
The movie is still untitled however Universal is focusing towards achieving a production budget of around $25 million. That amount is five times more than the film Peele created with producer Jason Blum. Although no details about the movie and it’s storyline have been released, it is reported to have the same theme as Get Out demonstrating an alarming take on racism.
Peele reveals that he plans to release four new social thrillers within the next decade. “I’ve been working on these premises about these different social demons, these innately human monsters that are woven into the fabric of how we think and how we interact, and each one of my movies is going to be about a different one of these social demons” he explains further about his future films’ visions. Now that he won’t be directing the adaptation of Akira, Peele has a lot of time on his hands to really focus and finalize this new upcoming project.
