Recently, the Recording Academy announced the 60th annual Grammy Awards nominees. These nominees for the 2018 Grammy awards were announced on Tuesday morning during a live airing of “CBS This Morning”. Singer-songwriter Andra Day was the one to reveal the names of the nominees in the four categories; Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year.
The other nominations were announced via Grammy.com and other social media platforms. Jay-Z racked up the most nominations with a staggering 8. His nominations were for album, song, and record of the year. This year’s nominations are very clearly skewed towards rap and R&B, it has been an extremely strong year for this genre with many mainstream hits. Even though last year Adele took home the win, she said it was Beyonce’s Lemonade Album was the rightful winner of last year’s award. We can’t wait to see who will tak home the award this year.
