Harry Potter is Done After Cursed Child says J.K. Rowling

It seems we’ve reached the end of the road for one boy wizard. Though boy might be overstating it a bit, Harry Potter is already 36 years old as the script for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child comes rolling out. The London stage play continuation of his story has now been confirmed to be the last chapter of the famous wizardry odyssey.

Cursed Child picks up right where Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 left off: with an adult Harry and his wife Ginny sending off their two sons to Hogwarts. The play reunites Harry, Ron, Hermione and Draco, along with a whole new generation of Hogwarts students.

At the gala opening for the play, Rowling said that now Harry’s story is coming to an end. “He goes on a very big journey during these two plays and then, yeah, I think we’re done,” she said. “This is the next generation, you know. So, I’m thrilled to see it realized so beautifully but, no, Harry is done now.”

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a five-hour play split over two parts, and with the script now being released as a book, and perhaps a movie adaptation in the future, at least we have a little more to look forward to before finally bidding adieu to our favorite school of magic.
