A South Florida man, Justin Jackson, tricked multiple sports stars over the years into thinking he was Adele’s manager and he has finally been caught. His wife, Angel Lii was in on the scam as well, and now the two have been charged with more than a dozen criminal charges. These charges include counts of identity theft and organized scheme to defraud.
Jackson used to email as Adele’s manager and offer countless and exclusive things to stars. These included Adele concert tickets in exchange for sneakers from basketball players like Carmelo Anthony and Russel Westbrook to allegedly auction off for charity. He succeeded in getting sneakers from basketball players Paul George, Victor Oladipo and Richard Hamilton.
Jackson also asked representatives for Chris Brown, Tory Lanez and Katy Perry if they would make birthday videos for a friend. However, the singers turned it down and the request did not work.
Miami-Dade cyber-crimes detective Steven Kaufman finally caught the couple by setting them up, telling them they could pick up Kendrick Lamar passes on Saturday at the Bayfront Park. The couple showed up to pick up the passes and both were immediately arrested. Jackson had also been caught in the past for impersonating other celebrity reps.
