Brie Larson Hits the Books to Prep for Captain Marvel Role

Fans were content when recent Oscar winner Brie Larson was cast as the big screen’s Captain Marvel. Usually, when actors prep for their movie roles as big name superheroes, you can catch them with their personal trainers pumping iron at the gym or putting out some serious cardio work. But it seems that Larson plans to fully embrace her turn as Carol Danvers with more than just physical preparation.

It’s research time! Larson recently tweeted out a pic of herself decked out in some character appropriate gear and hitting the (comic) books to prepare for the film which is scheduled to hit theaters in March 2019. And who knows, with the interconnected web that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we might see Captain Marvel pop up with a cameo role before her official big screen debut, a la Tom Hollard’s Spiderman in the recent Captain America movie.

Larson’s has a lot more going on than just Captain Marvel, she’s the lead in Free Fire which is set to make its world premiere at the BFI London Film Festival. On top of that, Kong: Skull Island is gearing up to be a major 2017 release and the drama The Glass Castle is expected to arrive next year as well.

It’s nice to know that she’ll be keeping up with comics in between takes.
