Southwest is known for its mildly kitschy cabin announcements, but this one is a new record. As a flight from San Francisco pulled into the gate in Kansas City on December 7, the pilot did not offer your usual “Thanks for flying with us” shtick. Instead, he congratulated the passengers on drinking every drop of booze on the plane over a flight time of just three hours and 20 minutes.
There’s a perfectly logical explanation: It was a “Raiders flight.” The jet was chock full fans on their way to Kansas City ahead of their squad’s match-up with the Chiefs. According to Raiders beat reporter Jimmy Durkin, who was onboard, the Raiders fans were “not particularly rowdy.”
