This past Sunday was the Olivier Awards in the UK. To absolutely no one’s surprise, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the most recent Harry Potter play by J.K Rowling, has won a plethora of awards.
It won a total of 9 awards, which means it beat the highest record of 7 awards for Matilda and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night. The play was given the honor of Best New Play due to its outstanding directing, costumes, lighting, and set design.
Despite its achievements, it did lose in a few categories, such as Best Choreography and several music categories. It would be the dream of numerous Americans to be able to see the Harry Potter Broadway show.
Perhaps now that it has won so many awards, it sees the potential in taking the stage here in the United States. Without a doubt, seats would be sold out instantly and crowds would go absolutely wild with excitement, love, and happiness. Fan fever would definitely reach new heights.
