Isaiah Thomas Is More Than Ready To Get Paid

There is no doubt Isaiah Thomas killed it for the Celtics last year, but now he is just a bargain compared to some other great players in the NBA. The point guard will make just $6.3 million in the 2017-2018 season, but once he becomes a free agent, the player is going for the gold.

Thomas averaged 28.9 points this past season and 5.9 assists per game. He lead the Celtics to the top seed in the Eastern Conference and proved just how clutch someone even shorter than 5 feet 9 inches can be.

In order for Boston to keep Thomas around next year, they are going to have to up his pay for sure. He has stated that he wants to cash in with a max deal once he becomes a free agent. He even went on to say that the Celtics will need to “back up the Brinks truck” for him. You can bet that he was not kidding when he said that. Thomas posted on his Instagram a picture of his sandals with the picture of cash pouring out of a Brinks truck.

Even though Thomas is not being subtle about how much cash he wants and expects in the future, he does deserve to make more than $6.3 million. However, with all the huge deals that have been made over the past two off-season’s, there are fewer teams with the potential cap space to give out tremendous offers like some may expect.
