The SEC Championship game has come and gone. The SEC Championship is the annual football game that determines the Southeastern Conference’s season champion. This championship game has been determining this ever since 1992. This game is played between the SEC Western division and the SEC Eastern Division’s top teams during the first Saturday in December.  This year, the game was be played in Atlanta’s Mercedes Benz Stadium. The University of Georgia played Auburn this year in a quest to receive this championship title and called this their “Revenge Tour.” UGA’s one regular season loss was a rough one to Auburn. The 2016 SEC champion was Alabama, a hugely successful football team, and arguably the most talented team in the entire U.S. Kirby Smart and UGA has taken that title with a 28-7 win that included 2 forced turnovers and a blocked field goal. Some of the teams who have won in the past include Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn, and LSU. Teams in the SEC that have yet to secure a spot ever in the championships include Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M. Tickets for this game were selling at prices upward from $400 and the seats were going quickly. UGA proved themselves and are the newest SEC champions, and will almost definitely be heading to the National Playoffs.
